Just curious

It -is- curious,  that this article,  only got posted in Canadian newspapers,  and at the same time,  kind of sad.

Barack say’s “Who needs fish”

Thursday, February 4th, 2010

From Josh Hodge,

“Attorney General Mike Cox filed a federal lawsuit on December 6, trying to force the Army Corps of Engineers and the city of Chicago to close the locks in the Chicago Sanitary and Ship canal. DNA from Asian Carp was found beyond the electric barrier in the canal, which has alarmed many enviromental groups, and suggeststhat the carp may be infecting the Great Lakes. The carp could serverely impact the Great Lakes by consuming large amounts of food that local species rely heavily on for survival. This would affect the  fishing industry in Michigan. The fishing industry brings in $7 billion  annually to the state.
Barack Obama made it clear that he would be supporting Illinois in this matter and asked the Supreme Court not to close the locks in Chicago.
Tuesday January 19, the Supreme Court refused to close the shipping locks near Chicago.”

State Sovereignty and the BATF

Sunday, January 24th, 2010

This has just come to my attention and it’s importance has lead me to overide my avoidance of political posts:

“The BATFE has written gun dealers in the states of Montana and Tennessee to let them know the BATFE will be disregarding the states’ sovereign gun laws”

I find this very disturbing,  that an entity of the federal government feels that it has the power to nullify the word, will, and law of the people.  I certainly hope it does not come to be,  but a possible outcome of this massive powergrab by the ATF would be,  that the Montana and Tennessee State Police and National Guard would meet the ATF at the states border’s and deny then entry into the state.

PJ TV article on “The Smallest Minority”

Sunday, January 3rd, 2010

This video at the Smallest Minority caught my attention

Couldn’t agree more,  and I’ve seen the same thing happenning to Flint, Michigan,  but one thing about it bothered me a little bit.  I tried to post a comment and it wouldn’t take,  so I’ve posted the comment below.

As a  GM skilltrades retiree,  (retired for the past 10 years),

I agree with 99% of the PJTV video,  with a few minor exceptions:

In 30 years at GM,   I went from $1.95 per hour as a janitor,  up to $23.15 an hour as a

Journeyman Machinist/Machine Repairman.  Over the years the UAW declined offered pay raises to increase our health benifits and vacation time.   The MOST paid yearly vacation time I ever received was 2 weeks.  Yes, in  the 30 years I worked there, I got approximately 220 vacation days.   Our health coverage got progressively worse over the last 10 years I worked,  and have gotten to be almost non existant now that I’ve retired.   A typical doctors office call costs me $160,  and the 4 prescriptons I currently take to stay alive,  cost me $250 every three months.  We do not have eye or dental care!

An odd thing about not having eye and dental care is,  it cost me very little more out of pocket, now that I pay the “real” bill. (un-edited by the insurance companies)

I haven’t been a “Union man” for 25 years,  and agree with everything the article said about the unions.

I’m not interested in arguing these facts, because I lived them.    I just hate to see shop workers,  (many who were forced into the UAW),  lumped in with the UAW crowd.  It’s hard to quietly accept the exagerations about shop workers.   Especially, since my second career was in the public school system.  I saw first hand how the school employees downrated shop workers for their supposedly extravagent pay and benefits,  even though most of the school employee’s,  (myself at that time,  included),  got better benefits, vacations,  and pay than the shop workers.

I’ve made this type of argument before,  and it brought some angry responses from some friends who didn’t live through those GM years with me.  With that in mind,  I will not likely be approving any comments on this post so don’t bother.  It’s history.  Just remember,  Propaganda is a powerful tool and is cruelly wielded!

Carbon DiOxide (a joke?)

Monday, December 14th, 2009

Last Monday, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) officially declared carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases a danger to public health and welfare. The announcement gives the EPA the authority to mandate policy that would regulate carbon emissions, regardless of whether or not Congress passes the long awaited cap-and-trade bill.

This is one of the crazier examples of government hyper-management and control.   So now, the very air we breath out is classified as a “danger to public health and welfare“.   Not to mention,  the output of basically all living things!   Hmmm,  seems there was a Hollywood movie with a solution for that problem,  DESTROY ALL LIVING THINGS ON EARTH.     But wait,  no that wouldn’t work either,  even dead swamps and dead bodies emit carbon dioxide!   Oh well,  on a brighter note,  I suppose this negates the need for a gun to protect ones self.   If attacked all I would have to do is threaten to breath out, on the attacker.

First Ice! and, Is the end in sight?

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009

Sometime after midnite of Dec. 7th,  the Au Gres River froze solid.   I’m going to call this one “First Ice”,  because it’s now 2:30 PM,  and the ice is still solid.

And on a sadder note:  I received an email today pointing to,

http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=h111-45&tab=summary

HR 45 Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sales Act of 2009

Apparently confirmed:

VERIFIED – TRUE by snopes.com

http://www.snopes.com/politics/guns/blairholt.asp

I’ve since had some indication that this information,  SNOPES INCLUDED,   isn’t 100% correct.

But, if this all plays out as this email indicates is planned,  it will with out a doubt,  be the beginning of the End of Life as we know it, here in these United States.  Talk about over crowded prisons, Loss of freedoms, Lack of understanding and respect for the Constitution?  Is this how freedom in the USA  will end?
