On another note:   It’s December 7th, and we haven’t had a ‘real’ hard freeze yet.  We had a few snow flurries,  and it seems quite cold,   but so far,  35 degree days have been the norm,  with the high twenties at night.    I’ve seen icy slush in the river one time,  but right now it’s flowing cleanly.   The wife and I have a little bet going about the river freezing.   I’m guessing Dec. 18th it will be solid,  with maybe a few flash freezes that melt away between now and then.   Ice fishing,  is going to be another story this year,    I’m pretty sure that will come after Christmas,  maybe New Year or later.  Just a guess, ya know?

As far as river fishing goes,  the water has been very clear,  and down quite a bit from summer.   There have been a very few Perch,  and not much else on our stretch of the river,  but I hear that last week they were catching WhiteFish from the docks up town. (Not one of my favorites)     I’ve hoping the river starts running clean again next year,  maybe the fish will come back.  Eighteen Days until Christmas!!!!

I was cleaning out  a drawer today looking for some old software and ran across a manila envelope with a Dec. 1964 issue of Drag Cartoons,   and a  Aug. 1984 and  Oct. 1987 issues of CarToons.   I remmber having a large stack of DragToons,  Cartoons,  and a few others when I was younger.  When I moved out of Dad’s house,  the stacks of comic car magazine,  and stacks of HotRod,  and CarCraft magazines,  remained,  stacked on a corner shelf in Dad’s basement.   Over the years,  the basement developed water leaks,  and most of the magazine got very moldy.   I remember pulling these three memories from Dad’s basement after he passed away and just before we sold the house.   I also had a large stack of BoardWatch and BlackBelt magazines.  Of these,  I have one of each hanging framed in my garage.  The BoardWatch cover has Bill Gates dressed as a Borg on the cover,  and the BlackBelt has Bruce Lee on the cover.   Below are a few photos of my latest find.  Note the 1964 Big Daddy Roth ad’s.  ”Roth” painted T-shirts were $1.98,  and sweatshirts were $3.98!!!!!!!!!!!

Really? Yup,  I checked my birth certificate and it’s true.   (I’m not showing mine either )

It kind of humbles me a bit,  I really don’t feel it,  though maybe I should.
