Rumor, leads to other thoughts

I received an email today stating that George Soros,  (the evil manipulator),  is buying up all the U.S. Gun manufactures with the intention of shutting them down.   Now,  I have to admit,  that this did sound like something Soros would do,,,,  but I researched it and found the statement to be false,  a rumor.  It seems that “The Freedom Group” is owned by “Cerberus Capital Management” and neither have any connection to the old Greek.   (according to the NRA,  and SNOPES).

A while later,  I got to thinking about it,  and did come up with a hypothetical discovery.   If Cerberus,  and The Freedom Group,  are buying up gun and ammo manufacturers like it was a fire sale,   it certainly seems that they are the ones controlling the prices for the product on the market.   Seems plausible then,  that they are responsible,  at least in part,   for the price of ammo doubling, tripling,  and beyond.  NOTE to Cerberus:   If I can’t afford the ammo,  I won’t be buying your guns,   regardless of how low they are priced.

Au Gres River report for Feb. 7th

I went out and tested the ice on the river yesterday about 3pm and there were about 4 inches on the edge of the channel.   As you got further out into the channel the ice got thinner,  and I didn’t venture out there.   I was thinking we might want to try a little ice fishing today,   WRONG!   This morning,  there were multiple holes in the ice,   with water swurling around in them.    All of the cracks in the ice were flooded,    and I wouldn’t go out there on a bet.

A few fish were being caught up town last week,  but this week   the river is wide open up there.   Any fishing would have to been done from a dock.   It doesn’t look like ice fishing is in this weekend’s forecast.
