I’ve just finished a 30 minute trial of the NRA Highpower game from ISE Games.
“A true-to-life simulation of the super competitive world of high power competition, NRA High Power Competition provides valuable resources which teach the rules, procedures and safety of the sport.
Shoot highly detailed civilian versions of three military service rifles, as well as two custom high power match rifles.
The game includes sophisticated ballistics modeling and true-to-life reloading (hand loading) systems using the products of the shooting industry’s top suppliers.”
1st off, don’t bother unless your familiar with the “High Power” competition. The game tries to be very very true to the actual competition. It reminds me somewhat of the game, (I forget the title) that the U.S. Army is pushing. (to build better soldiers) The game seems to try just a little to hard to build you into a new High Power shooter. The price is very reasonable at just under 10 bucks, but at that price, you kind of expect the rather dated graphics. All the aspects of the competition are there, from range time, to reloading, to windage, and using your winnings to build a better rifle. It’s just a little to regimented for this old shooter. They also put out one called “Varmit Hunter”, I just might try that Demo next.

FOLLOW UP:
I tried downloading “Varmit Hunter”, but unlike the “NRA Highpower” game, “Varmit Hunter” triggered my AVG Malware Detector. Rather than take a chance, “Varmit Hunter” got shot.
Looks like us Michiganders are going to see the Winter Solstice come and go, without snow on the ground. That might mean no White Christmas, but it should work out well for Holiday travelers like Doc Russia.

Since being forced into retirement, I haven’t spent a lot of time following the antic’s of Novell, Microsoft, or my former employer. (Make that ZERO time)
Anyway, by accident, today I ran across this little tidbit about an alliance between Novell and Microsoft. If nothing else, this sure makes me feel a lot better about being retired.

This thought crossed my mind this morning, (now that’s a scary idea) while listening a little bit of Pres. Bush’s morning press conference.
Why is the Kennedy family so often referred to as America’s Royalty, while that type of reference is never made about the Bush family?
Bush = Rich, money coming from OIL
Kennedy = Rich, money coming from Mob activities
Kennedy = polititions, John, Robert, ,, Ted the dred
Bush = polititons, George, George Jr, Jeb
Kennedy = 1 great First Lady
Bush = 2 great First Ladies
Ok, I understand that a lot of people don’t like George Jr, but a lot of people don’t like Ted either. Myself, I understand and am very thankful that the USA doesn’t have OR condon royalty. I’m just wondering why the press core would paint the Kennedy’s as royalty, while marking the Bush’s off as Cowboys. (I’ll take a Cowboy over a Prince, any day)
I supposed I can mark it up as just another biased brush stroke of the popular press.

The weather bouy’s have been pulled for the season, so I don’t know the water temperature, but the air is warm.
The river is still pretty high, (comparably), and the day time temps over the last few day’s have been around 50 degree’s. A couple of hours of river bank fishing, produced no bites. I’m guessing the water is a bit muddy for perch.
Everyone is starting to ponder, whether we’ll get snow for Christmas.
