While adding some wiring for lights in the boat barn, I had a minor accident.
What you see above is the result of a 59 year old head, meeting concrete from a height of about 9 feet. Didn’t hurt the concrete one bit! While I was wiring a light fixture, my ladder slide backward on the slick new concrete, dropping me about 9 feet to the floor. Fortunately I went straight down until the ladder impacted the edge of a hand brake, at which time it threw me to onto my right side onto the floor. When my shoulder impacted the floor, my neck flexed and I popped the floor a good one. End result, a good amount of blood loss, stopped up my 10 shiny new staples in my head, a tweaked knee, sore shoulder, and sprained wrist. All in all, I believe someone was watching over me (again). (It could have been a lot worse
I have no idea why the ladder feet slide across the floor, (the ladder was at a good angle). The only thing that might have made a different was, had I been wearing a harness. (but I don’t have one in my garage).
When I’m healed up a bit, and get back to the wiring job, I’ll figure some way to attach the top of the ladder to the roof rafter, before I start working.
I guess I could consider it a little help with the decision to lose the PonyTail I’ve worn for nearly 42 years. My hair was so matted with blood, that it was easier to just cut my hair.

Yikes! Hope you feel better soon.
Feeling a lot better already, I took the wrap off my wrist today, and my knee is just bruised. Next Tuesday the staples come out of my head and I should be nearly as good as new.
ouch… time to invest in a tall step ladder.
