Well,,,, I found a way to browze the Internet. All I have to do is insert and boot from an old AUDITOR Security CD. Totally bypassing anything Windoze. (Its interesting that my keyboard mapping is off though).Where I now stand: Windoze, I cant load most web pages, but I can successfully ping them.AUDITOR Sec. CD, Browse web pages freelyThese two statements hold true for my desktop, and my laptop. Either OS. My Charter Tech, (whos been very helpful) thinks the problem is Internet Explorer ver. 8 causing the problem, because AUDITOR uses Mozilla Firefox. I suppose thats my next step, install a new browser under Windoze. UPDATE: It appears that installing Google Chrome (against my better wishes) has also cured the InterNot problem. (If so, chock one up for Charter Tech, J— ! ) Update #2: Reinstalling Internet Explorer 8, Did NOT help my other computer! Currently downloading Chrome on it! UPDATE #3 Chrome is now install on both PC’s, (laptop and desktop) both are working almost perfectly, (one glitch time in a couple of hours use). This crap has got me to thinkin’ hard, and Ubuntu ver. 9.10 is currently downloading. If all goes well with the download (690 mb’s) , I’ll be installing Ubuntu on a VMware virtual machine later tonight or tomorrow. It’s been a while since I’ve played with it, but maybe it’s time to try again.
