“This is absolutely unbelievable! I was going through my morning routine, and I saw an e-mail telling me that Barack Obama had won the Nobel Peace Prize. The first thing I did was check my calendar. No, it’s not April 1!” Quoted from “The Loft”.
“According to the Nobel committee’s own web site, all nominations must be submitted by February 1 of the year awarded. This means Obama’s international accomplishments are based on him being president for twelve days! Twelve days!”
Our world is very SICK!
How Obie did it in just 12 days!
After spending another afternoon acid washing the bottom of the SportCraft, I decided to look more into bottom paints. I learned that doing it ones self can be a pretty big project, and having it done can be pretty expensive. Then I ran across VS721. Wipe on buff off, kinda like a wax. Actually a lot like a wax. They say it will protect the boats bottom for a full season. Hmmmmmm?
We’ll see how the research comes out, and if I wind up trying it, you’ll get the scoop here next fall.
Pulled the Sportcraft today. The weather report has been showing today as the only nice day this week, and I’ll be out of town for a week in a couple of weeks.
I got her in front of the garage, and did TWO applications of Mary Kate’s On and Off, but it STILL isn’t clean. Note: I dressed in chem. resistant coverhalls, rubber boots, rubber gloves, and a full chemical face mask. This stuff is STRONG! I still managed to get a wiff or two of the stuff, and my airway’s feel a bit raw. I was pretty dissapointed that it didn’t come fully clean, it always worked before, and usually with only one application?? I’m not sure what to try next on the stubborn spots??
I’m leaning more and more toward bottom paint next season.
And speaking of bottom paint, what’s your opinion on getting a flu shot? I’ve heard some horror stories about the vaccines.
Friday Oct. 2nd, brought our coldest night so far this fall. I was out of town, but my weather station tells me the low was 33 degree’s that night. Coupled with brisk breezes, rain, and cloudy skies, there hasn’t been much going on out on the Bay.
This of course, following a body being found near the Gravelly Shoal light about week ago.
There has been some small activity, trolling in the river, but I have no reports as to whether the Salmon are in.
