A letter arrived from “Personal Blue Dental” (Blue Cross), stating that they were offering a “for pay” insurance to replace that which Generous Motors took away from us. At first glance, I didn’t like the look of it. Topped off by the fact that they were trying to force a decision, by leaving us only 5 days to make a decision.
A quick call to my Dentist, confirmed my feelings. The Dentist’s office told me that last year our expenses before the insurance company paid anything were $1270. Four cleanings, 2 xrays, and one crown.
Compare this to the newly offered insurance. $1100 in premiums, $140 in copays for the cleanings, and $400 for the crown. Thats adds up to $1640.
Let’s see, Out of pocket yearly expense $1270, With Insurance yearly expense $1640. Sorry, “Personal Blue Dental” , I didn’t flunk any math classes!!!!

It’s come to my attention that transactions processed by PayPal, are subject to intense, possibly illegal scrutiny. I will soon be closing down my PayPal account, and their access to my financial accounts will be blocked.
This came about by way of my accepting payment for some raffle tickets from PayPal. I didn’t actually offer the raffle tickets for sale on any web site, nor did I offer PayPal as a method of payment. A distant friend offered to purchase the tickets and PayPal seemed to be an easy method of payment for both of us. My best guess is, PayPal has been monitoring some of my or his emails, not to mention poking around in my account at the bank. Kind of seems ILLEGAL to me?
I’m going through a slow posting period. Explaination: My son and his family are moving to Port Alexander, Alaska, where his wife will be the new teacher at the communities school . Needless to say, we’ve been pretty busy helping them pack the big Penske rental truck, and getting them on their way. They’re driving the truck up through Michigans Upper Penninsula, and across the country to Washington State, and from there taking a ship to Alaska. The final leg of their trip will be by floatplane, from Sitka, to Port Alexander. (their possesions will arrive later by shipping barge).
Looks like they’re off for quite an adventure. I’ve never been to Alaska, and we’re contemplating a trip there if funds allow. Here are a couple of links to the area.
I expect posting will be sketchy for a while, because we’ll be busy for a while getting the kid’s house here in Michigan ready for sale. We’ll likely be staying there while working on it, and I’ll have no I-net access from there.
