Fishing Report out of the Au Gres River

The waves were around two feet,  and 4 of us decided to brave the predicted scattered thunder storms for a little Walleye fishing.

We fished hard for about 8 hours and pulled in 7 Walleye, (six keepers) and 2 big Catfish.    The keepers varied from 15.5 inches to about  23 inches.  Not a trip to write home about,  but still,  a pretty good day on the Bay.   We worked the waters about 3 to 4 miles out from the river,  and from there,  maybe 3 miles south.  We varied between 47 and 31 ft of water.  We marked a lot of bait fish,  and a lot more (Walleye looking) fish than actually took our harnesses.   I’m wondering if their lack of aggression has anything to due with the abundance of bait fish.  Maybe they’re just full and lazy?

We finished the day with a pan fried Walleye dinner,  backed up with a huge Taco salad and a nice bottle of Pino Noir.
