Still not feeling real blogable. The water is down in the river. The water is clear but brown. The Lily pads are starting to die off, and the undewater weeds are ugly.
I hear the fish aren’t biting. I’ve talked with a few people who’ve been out, (not many have be going lately), and they say there are just a few Walleye, and very few Perch. I’m itching to make another trip out, but I’d really like it to be a productive one.
I hear McCain is pulling on Obama. I suppose that’s a good thing, I know it’s a good thing, I just can’t seem to get real excited about politics.
I think I’ll down a double shot of “Cutty“, and veg a bit before bedtime.
The water in the river is well up from last year, meaning the water in the Bay is also up. (Great news!) This week the river water is very clear, and moving somewhat slow. There are a lot of weeds on the banks. We seem to be in a rather dead time for river fishing. Tiny Perch, Gobeys, and occasional small SunFish, and once in a great while a medium size Bass or Catfish. I hear the Walley are still active out in the Bay, but pretty hard to locate. The winds have been strong and the waves high for the past few days. I hope to make it out again soon, weather permitting.
Note: I also wish that the idiots who continually blast the river, would learn to read, and notice the ,
“NO WAKE” signs posted all over the river!!!!
We have been assured by the local Conservation Officier, that the river is an official “NO WAKE” zone, and appropriate tickets will be written, for violators. (He just needs to be around, when the violation is committed)
Call the Michigan DNR “RAP” line at: 800-292-7800 to report violators. (Their boat’s registration number will be very handy when calling in a report)
Today I looked back over some of my archives. Some of them are junk, some are pretty good reading. It’s funny how your blog can keep a bit of personal history for you. I also updated the header to be similar to my original header. (Blue and Green, my old Kawasaki KDX colors).
Looking back, brought thoughts of IGOGG . Things have changed, but one thing remains the same. Thank You, Mr. Grey, for hosting all these years. Where’s Blu Hatter? It was occasionally fun to disagree.
Finally, not a “Flashback”, but very interesting.
It summer, and it’s Hot and Muggy. I’m not finding much time to blog, or to read the blogs of others, (sorry ya’ll).
