More thoughts on McCain

Just when I’m starting to think Ann Coulter has gone over the edge with her assault on McCain.  She drops this bomb:

“Both John McCain and Hillary Clinton,  are funded by “eccentric” billionaire,  George Soros“,  I sure hope she’s wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!

Once upon a time, or

One of these days,,,,

I’ll have enough disposable cash to purchase one of these ,  or maybe even one of these.  Hey, if we’re going to wish,  might as well wish for the moon or even a Star:-)

Oh well,  we can always dream.

Conservative Grief, Strange Belief’s

The from An American Thinker.

Skip to the last part of the post:

“”Acceptance

Look at it this way.  You’ve been stranded on an island inhabited by people who look like you but who have strange beliefs.  They think you get more jobs by raising costs on people who provide them.  They think you get less poverty by paying people to prove they are poor.  They think you move toward a color blind society by requiring people to check a box for “race” on official forms.  They think a jury is better informed if evidence is withheld from it.  They think war is best avoided by not preparing for one.  They think voter choice is improved by outlawing ads paid for by citizens (with exceptions given to the candidates themselves and newspaper editors).

They’re not quite sacrificing virgins to the volcano, but they are willing to sacrifice large fractions of the economy because the temperature increased one degree over the last one hundred years and their computer-driven oracles tell them it’s your fault.

And they are a bit touchy.  Of a population around 6 billion, they killed upwards of 170 million of each other in the last century, not counting garden-variety murders.  Draw the wrong cartoon and you might be next.

It’s the democracy, stupid.

There’s not much you can do about it.  Try to get along.  Hang out with the friendlier ones.  Don’t tell them you think their beliefs are strange; it will upset them.  Talk about baseball or something.  (But not the weather!)

That shining city on the hill you thought you saw?  A mirage.  An atmospheric or historic anomaly.  Move on.

You are stuck on this island.  Accept it.  Make the best of it.  At least that’s what I keep telling myself. ”"

Strange belief’s indeed!!!

Point Lookout Mini-Report

If you couldn’t hear the wind blowing and see the snow blowing,  it would look like a really nice day outside.   11:30am, bright and sunny, currently 4 degree’s,  with a steady 20mph west wind.  A good day to stay inside.  I think I’ll do a quick reclean on the 3 rifles I shot last week.   P.S.  I contacted Federal about the faulty .22 ammo I had trouble with.  They are going to replace the ammo and pay for postage.   They said,  the problem was something called

“Stress Corrosion Cracking of the Brass.”

“This occurs when brass is exposed to chemicals or fumes containing
Ammonia.”
The Federal service rep., said that these rounds were quite old,  (I knew that),  and since I couldn’t think of a time when they had been exposed to Ammonia,  he stated, that the exposing likely happened before I purchased the ammo.    It’s nice to know that the Federal Ammo company,  will stand behind their product,  even years after is was produced.  You won’t find that kind of service very often these days.

And speaking of Federal Ammunition Company’s service,  check out their new online and downloadable ballistics charts.

I’m guess I’m going to lighten up on McCain

Thanks to a link I picked up at Ballseye’s Boomers,  I guess I’m going to have to lighten up on John McCain.   OnTheIssues.org lists the quotes and voting records of all the current and most past presidential candidates.  After reading through all the headliner’s,  McCain doesn’t really look that bad.  If you’re anti-McCain,   but not pro-Hillary or pro-Obama,  you should check out the history of the candidates.   I do believe that Ann Coulter is wrong this time!

And on another note:  Here’s a link to the Knob Creek Machine Gun Shoot video.   Cool!
