Bradley Bar

Well,  we took the 17ft Alaskan out in the calm water’s of the Bay last week,  for a quick run over to NorthPort Marina,  just to look it over.

Unknown to us,  about halfway across from the Augres River bouy’s to the NorthPort bouy’s lies Bradley Bar.  We were cruising along about 25 mph, in 12 feet of water,  when the old Merc picked up a nasty rock.  (the water quickly went from 12 feet to 1 ft when we crossed the bar).

I hope I don’t find to many more unmarked obstuctions out there.   This one cost me about $150.  At least now I know to avoid Bradley Bar when going from the Augres River to Northport Marina.

We tested out the NEW PROP on the Alaskan today and it seems to work fine with the rig we have.  I also installed an electric trolling motor on it,  so we’re ready for what ever’s biting in shallow water.  Still working on that deep water thing,,,,  they say the Walleye are slowing down,  but still out there if you can find them.  I just might fill up the SeaRay and give it another try tomorrow.
