The weather has taken a colder turn, and rain has been about for the last couple of days. Not good fishing weather.
Before the weather turned ugly, we were catching a few fish on the river, Walleye and Pike. Some pretty nice size ones. In a few day’s they’d be legal keepers.
Unfortunately, almost every fish we catch, has what looks like, (to an untrained eye) Viral Hemorrhagic Septicemia, or VHS. They look like they’ve been beaten up by a larger fish, and then dragged down the pavement behind a truck.
I’ve contacted the DNR for a determination of this but haven’t gotten and answer yet. Let’s hope it’s just a bully down there.
