Greybeards Gripes

I sent the shipping damaged TF-99 back a bit over a week ago and still hadn’t received a replacement,  so this morning I called Compasseco and asked about it.  They said,  they had been waiting for me to call!!  It seems they have backordered the scopes and were waiting for the backorder to come in before shipping the rifle.  Sometime around the end of November.  Needless to say,  I canceled the order.   I think an undamaged one,  would have been a nice air rifle,  but,  I’m just not willing to sit and wait for month after month.

I guess I’ll have to come up with a new plan to replace the Silver Streak.  I now have about 1000 .22 caliber air gun pellets, and no .22 air gun.  Any suggestions?

This one lasted about 10 minutes this evening.  I missed the first part of it, so I don’t really know if it was at it’s peak.  The picture may not do it full justice,  but here it is.

I just learned a small tidbit of the History of Halloween:

When the Irish Immigrants came to America many years ago,  they brought with them,  the tradition of carving Turnips for Halloween.  Strangely enough, 

when Turnips turned out to be hard to come by,  they switched to carving PUMPKINS! 

And that’s all I’ve got to say about that!

Hmmm,  looks like the Tigers (meow) opted to stay home and watch again last night.  Hope they decide to play some baseball,  before it’s to late!

When I purchased the DPMS I had pretty much decided to trade off the old Remington Model 81 that Dad left me.  It’s heavy and only holds 4 rounds in the fixed box magazine.

Low and behold, I then ran across this article at www.survival.com .

Thanks to them,  it’s position will be secure in my gun safe.
