State of the "Beard" report

This retirement thing seems to be working out pretty well so far.
I claimed the deed to my house today, (no more payments),
and I seem to be finding plenty of things to keep me busy.

I hear tell that things aren’t going quite so smoothly at my former place of employment, but that’s well out of my thoughts these days.
I expect they’ll get things somewhat straight, one of these days.

I also heard today, that MGM is planning to film “The Hobbit”. Sounds interesting,, I hope they do it justice.

Today being September 11th, everyone seems to be focused on 2001’s terrorist attacks. I glad to see that some of us REMEMBER!
One question I’ve heard asked more than once today is;
Do you feel safer today, than you did right after the attacks?

Answer: Yes, I do, I now have a better understanding of who my enemies are, and how dangerous they are. I have also gotten much more serious about defense, and I’m a much faster and better shot, than I was in 2001. Never forget!

Tech Force Model 99

I tried to order a Tech Force TF-99 , 22 caliber air gun, yesterday.
It is purported to be of European air gun quality, and comes with a 3x to 12x, 40mm scope, at an NRA special price of 199 dollars.

Unfortunately, our Michigan legislature has pre-empted law abiding citizens from ordering a dangerous weapon, (we’re talking about a pellet gun here!).
The folks at www.compasseco.com told me that they are not allowed to ship .22 caliber air guns into Michigan.
I can have it shipped to a licensed gun dealer, but so far I haven’t hooked up with one of those, here around the Harbor.

I’m working on it,, but for now the order is on hold.
